Greenfood acquires a business from Finnish food industry company Apetit
Apetit’s fresh-cut products business employs 120 people in Kivikko, Helsinki. The business delivers to retail and HoReCa customers all over Finland, and its sales totalled EUR 23.2 million last year. The transaction is expected to be completed during the second half of 2019.
Greenfood Group is a leading Nordic supplier of fresh-cut vegetables and fruit with a wide selection of healthy, tasty and easily accessible convenience food. In 2018, Greenfood’s sales amounted to SEK 4.7 billion and the Group had around 1,300 employees.
“This acquisition will strengthen our position in Finland in the healthy convenience food market and our continuous growth in Finland. It will complement our current factory Salico Oy and provide us with additional modern production of fresh-cut fruit and vegetables. Together with our company Snackpoint Oy, we will be a leading convenience food supplier in the retail and HoReCa sector,” says David von Laskowski, CEO of Greenfood Group.
With its selection of healthy convenience food, Greenfood has been very successful both in Finland and abroad. Greenfood’s digitalised salad bar Picadeli, for example, can now be found in 1,900 places in Europe, 250 of them being in Finland. Greenfood supplies fresh convenience products to the Finnish market via its company Snackpoint Oy, fresh-cut fruit and vegetables via Salico Oy and fruit and vegetables via Finland’s biggest independent fruit and vegetable importer and distributor Satotukku Oy.
Apetit Group is a Finnish company that is listed on Nasdaq Helsinki. Its net sales were EUR 283 million in 2018. Apetit’s business areas are grain trade, oilseed products and food solutions.
